Most breastfeeding and infant-feeding issues can be thoroughly addressed through a virtual appointment.
During virtual visits, we can also complete a parent-guided oral assessment. With clear instructions and visual guidance, we walk you through how to gently lift your baby’s tongue, observe oral range of motion, check for tension patterns, and assess suck coordination—all safely from home.
The only parts of an assessment that cannot be completed virtually are hands-on oral palpation and weighted feeds. If those components are needed, we’ll help you determine appropriate next steps so you receive complete, accurate care.

Our approach combines the latest lactation research with a warm, supportive environment that centers your goals, your comfort, and your baby’s unique needs.
During your visit, we evaluate the entire feeding picture:
• Latch and positioning
• Milk transfer and feeding rhythm
• Oral motor function and tension patterns
• Nipple/bottle fit and feeding tools
• Parent comfort, pumping needs, and daily routinesInstead of generic tips, you receive a clear, personalized feeding plan that is realistic, sustainable, and tailored to your baby, your body, and your family.
-
We do not perform frenectomy procedures in our office, and we have zero financial incentive to recommend a release. Our assessments are completely neutral, functional, and based solely on what your baby actually needs.
We keep evaluation and treatment separate so families can trust that every recommendation is transparent, evidence-based, and free from conflict of interest. We are not employed by any hospital or release provider, and we are committed to helping you make informed, confident decisions — not pushing procedures.
Our training includes numerous specialized and highly regarded courses in:
• Functional oral assessments
• Tongue, lip, and buccal tie identification
• Determining when a release is truly necessary (and when it is not)
• Pre-release oral exercise preparation
• Post-release healing and rehabilitation
• Oral motor development and feeding coordinationThis advanced expertise allows us to differentiate normal newborn anatomy from true feeding-related dysfunction and to recognize when intervention may — or may not — be helpful.
We go beyond surface symptoms to identify the root causes of feeding challenges, focusing on function, anatomy, tension patterns, compensations, and feeding mechanics.
Our approach is holistic: we assess the entire feeding ecosystem — your baby’s oral function, body tension, your comfort, positioning, feeding tools, routines, and your family’s goals — so every recommendation fits real life, not just a textbook.
-

We are specifically trained in bottle refusal and understand the many reasons babies struggle to take a bottle—including flow mismatch, oral motor challenges, feeding position, regulation, and timing. Our strategies are gentle, effective, and tailored to your baby’s unique feeding patterns.
