This consultation is appropriate if you are concerned that your baby might have oral dysfunction and/or oral restrictions (ties). I will conduct a complete functional oral assessment of your baby and provide referrals to release providers, if necessary.
This consultation is also appropriate if you need formula feeding support and education.

Formula feeding support is individualized on based on need. An intake form will be completed prior to the consultation where you will be able to specify the current issue, your concerns, and what you need help with during your consultation.

Solids Consultation
A Solids Feeding Consultation with A Mother's Village can assist you to prevent and/or resolve problems related to your child's feeding.
Common solids feeding difficulties:
Solids refusal - where a baby or toddler appears to lack interest in eating solids. He/she is not upset when offered.
Feeding aversion - where a baby or toddler appears to be distressed when placed into the highchair or when offered solid foods and refuses to eat despite obvious signs of hunger.
Reliance on distractions - where a baby or toddler will only eat when entertained by toys, books, television, or videos.
Gagging or choking - when a baby or toddler repeatedly gags or chokes while feeding. This can be physical, behavioral, refusal, or fussy or distressed behavior at mealtimes.
Learn how to support your child to enjoy eating a variety of healthy foods and develop skills that enable him/her to self-feed.
Referrals will provided to other healthcare/medical professionals, as necessary.
